It has been 121 days since I wrote my last blog. Prior to that, I had blogged faithfully for the prior four years. Lots of writing, lots of thoughts, lots of laughter. So why did I stop? I needed time to focus.
Four years of blogging. Four years! I spent as many years blogging as I did in high school. Crazy to think about this whole adventure, It has been one of the most consistent things in my life. I have learned so much from blogging that I thought I would share with you some of my biggest lessons learned:
For the past three years, I have blogged pretty much once a week. I love blogging. Along the way, I’ve focused on different topics. I’ve focused on relationships, parenting, leadership, and church stuff. I typically write about the stuff that is in my heart, stuff that I see in the world, and whatever is happening in my life.
This year the blog turned three! What an amazing journey this has been for me, and I thought I would take a minute to say “thank you.” Thank you for all the encouraging comments, thank you for all the emails, and thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read some of my crazy thoughts.
Productivity and creativity aren’t natural enemies, but in a purpose-driven world they can feel like oppositional forces.
Well, this week marks the second full year of blogging. I am always so surprised when I think about it because the time has really gone quite fast.
One year ago today I started out on a journey to be a consistent blogger. When I started this journey, I could have told you what I thought that meant. Now the definition feels much more ambiguous. Either way, starting this blog has been one of the most enjoyable and painstaking experiences of my young life....
